『STILL BRIGHT: A Riddim and Flowers for My Bro』は、クラシックなワンドロップのRub-A-Dubを現代的な感覚で再構築した5曲入りEP。

クラシックなジャマイカン・Rub-A-Dubを土台としながら未来へ目を向け、日本ならではの視点でレゲエの伝統を次世代へつないでいくというG-Conkarahのビジョンを表現している。

9年前、プロデューサーのG-Conkarahは、半身麻痺と闘い続ける大切な友人を励ますために「Bright Dayz」という楽曲を制作した。本作では、そのオリジナルRiddimを一から作り直し、Cannon Bazooka、Naja、G2、Neo Hero、The Speakersを迎えて新たな命を吹き込んだ。さらに、インストゥルメンタルRiddimとDub Versionを収録し、言葉では表現しきれない想いを音で描いている。
この作品は、2026年4月19日に旅立ったGuiding StarクルーのDaichanへ捧げる音楽の花束である。

温かみのあるRub-A-Dubのグルーヴを軸に、メロディアスなレゲエ、ディージェイ・スタイル、そして奥行きのあるDubサウンドを融合し、ジャマイカ音楽への敬意と、日本から発信するオリジナルなレゲエ・サウンドを表現した。

花は墓前に供えられるだけではない。音楽として手向けることもできる。

STILL BRIGHT: A Riddim and Flowers for My Bro is a five-track reggae EP built around a newly reconstructed One Drop Rub-A-Dub riddim, blending classic Jamaican roots with a modern Japanese reggae approach.

Rooted in classic Jamaican Rub-A-Dub while looking toward the future, the EP reflects G-Conkarah’s vision of carrying reggae traditions forward through a distinctly Japanese perspective.

Nine years ago, producer G-Conkarah created the original riddim for a song called Bright Dayz to encourage a close friend during his long battle with paralysis. For this project, that riddim has been completely rebuilt, bringing together new performances from Cannon Bazooka, Naja, G2, Neo Hero, and The Speakers, alongside an instrumental riddim and a Dub version that lets the music speak beyond words.
This EP is dedicated to the loving memory of Daichan of Guiding Star crew,who passed away on April 19, 2026.

More than a tribute, this project is a celebration of resilience, friendship, and the enduring spirit of reggae. Inspired by the warmth of classic Rub-A-Dub, each track balances soulful melodies, conscious lyrics, and spacious Dub textures while honoring the timeless Jamaican tradition.

Sometimes flowers aren’t placed on a grave. Sometimes they’re left in music.
