『Roots to the Future Frequencies』は、G-ConkarahによるRiddim Maticシリーズ第9弾となるDub EP。

ジャマイカ音楽の豊かな伝統への敬意を軸に、未来志向のサウンドデザインを融合させた5曲を収録。

オープニングを飾る「Dub Flame」は、G-Conkarahによるオリジナル・レゲエリディムをDubへと昇華した作品。深いエコーと広がりのある空間演出、力強いグルーヴによってクラシックなRoots Dubの精神を表現しています。

「Little Nut Dub」では、The Melodiansの故Brent Doweと伝説的パーカッショニストBongo Hermanを迎えた『Little Nut Tree』リメイクを、より深くオーガニックなDubサウンドへと再構築しました。

「Luv Yuh Dub」は、故Conrad Crystalが歌ったオリジナル楽曲をDubとして再解釈した作品。ジャマイカ音楽への敬意と追悼の想いを込めた一曲です。

「Betta Dubbin’」では、20年以上前にSteely & Clevieが制作したリディムを再び取り上げ、Mighty DiamondsとU-Royによる名演を重厚なDigital Dancehall Dubへと昇華させています。

そしてラストを飾る「Shadow Sun Dub」は、Boom Bapビートに尺八や琴などの和楽器を融合し、G-Conkarah独自の音楽的探求と未来へのビジョンを表現したオリジナルDubです。

『Roots to the Future Frequencies』は、ジャマイカDubの遺産を受け継ぎながら、新たな周波数を未来へと送り届ける作品です。

Roots to the Future Frequencies is the ninth installment in G-Conkarah’s Riddim Matic series, presenting five Dub interpretations that celebrate Jamaica’s musical heritage while embracing a forward-looking creative vision.

Opening the EP is “Dub Flame,” a dramatic Dub version of G-Conkarah’s original reggae riddim, built around deep echo, spacious textures and powerful rhythms that embody the spirit of classic Roots Dub.

“Little Nut Dub” features the late Brent Dowe of The Melodians alongside legendary percussionist Bongo Herman, transforming G-Conkarah’s remake of Little Nut Tree into a rich and organic Dub experience.

“Luv Yuh Dub” pays tribute to the late Conrad Crystal through a heartfelt Dub interpretation of his original song, built on the timeless spirit of the My Conversation riddim.

On “Betta Dubbin’,” G-Conkarah revisits a Steely & Clevie-produced riddim created more than two decades ago, featuring the legendary voices of Mighty Diamonds and U-Roy in a heavyweight Digital Dancehall Dub.

Closing the journey is “Shadow Sun Dub,” an original Dub that blends Boom Bap rhythms with traditional Japanese instruments such as shakuhachi and koto, reflecting G-Conkarah’s evolving sonic identity and his vision for the future.

Roots to the Future Frequencies bridges Jamaica’s Dub legacy with contemporary production, honouring the roots while transmitting new frequencies for the future.
